Fowler Custom Homes
Barry Fowler
President
Barry started learning about the construction industry at a young age. His first paid job was cleaning old mortar off of used bricks, for which he was paid a penny a brick by his dad. Before going off to college you could usually find him on a jobsite framing a house, roofing, siding, installing flooring or pouring foundations. He graduated from Union College, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Management.
After college he moved to North Carolina where he worked for an accounting firm performing audits as a CPA. Eventually they started to miss the Midwest and returned to Lincoln. Shortly after returning to town he went back into the family construction business. His building career to date has spanned almost thirty years and has included building everything from starter townhomes to luxury homes. One particular area of emphasis has been acreage building. In order to better serve his clients in 2018 Barry became a licensed Realtor.
In his leisure time you can usually find him spending time with his wife Kelli and their three boys, working out at the gym, taking his grandson on four wheeler rides or floating around in a lake during the summer.
Kelli Fowler
Owner
Kelli hails from the frozen tundra of Minneapolis, and at heart still considers herself Minnesotan. After high school she moved down to Lincoln to attend Joseph’s College of Beauty and became a licensed cosmetologist. This career path combined her love of people, and her artistic creativity. After working in various salons, she decided to open her own very successful beauty shop to allow her more flexible hours to be with her kids.
After awhile she started thinking it was time for a change, and decided to go into interior design! As the owner of Gotcha Covered she spends her time between designing beautiful houses, and fostering amazing relationships with her clients.
When she isn’t hard at work at Gotcha Covered she can probably be found sipping a cup of coffee at one of the local coffee shops, or chasing after her very innergetic grandson Jackson.
Nick Fowler
Operations Manager
Nick grew up in the family business, and has held a wide variety of positions throughout the years. His first job with the company was running a mowing and snow removal crew throughout high school. Since then he has worked as a carpenter, tile setter, and more. He holds an Associate of Applied Science in Golf Operations Management degree from the Golf Academy of America from a couple year sabbatical as a golf pro in the Phoenix area.
In his current position he draws all of our blueprints, as well as managing the workflow on our job sites. His passion for detail and quality construction are a huge asset to all of our customers. In his off time you can find him on the driving range teaching his son Jackson a thing or two about golf.
Building Process
Building your dream home doesn’t have to be complicated. With close to thirty years of experience in the residential construction industry here in Lincoln we’ve learned a thing or two about making the home building process a fun and exciting time for our customers.
To start things off,
We typically like to have a quick meeting with you in our in house design center (Gotcha Covered) to help assess your needs and wants. We want to make sure your new home is designed around you!. Whether you have your ideal blueprint picked out and your lot purchased, or haven’t a clue exactly what you need we will help design a unique experience for you.
After the initial planning meetings the real fun begins! We will take you out and walk the lot with you to discuss ideal placement of your home and how the grading will look once everything is done. We will also pair you up with a member of our experienced design staff! Think of them as a personal concierge throughout the design process. They will walk you through the selection phase and keep everything organized and on track.
Our commitment to you doesn’t stop at closing either! Each and every one of our houses comes with a comprehensive one year builders warranty. If something doesn’t work quite the way it should, we will promptly be out to make sure it gets corrected. We also tend to be able to help people long after they have moved in with things like paint or shingle colors, window company etc. as we maintain your homes building files in our storage room. We are also here for you in case of storm damage, insurance claims, updates and renovations or just general maintenance. Our family owned business has been in Lincoln since 1971 and the fourth generation is now taking on leadership roles to carry us into the future.

“Barry and his crew did a fabulous job building our home. He met directly with us laying out everything in detail with no hidden expenses. They layout the build step by step with dates when things need to be decided on or ordered. This kept the build on schedule and allowed us to move in on the date he promised. Working directly with the interior design team was also great. We were able to change/add specific details that made it feel more like us.”
– Tate Vanicek
“Amazing experience!!! Fowler Custom Homes built our house in 2015. Barry was very patient and accommodating to the changes we wanted to make to the existing floor plan and explained their process and timeline. Working with Kara and the rest of the team on design choices was a stress-free and exciting process! The convenience of using their design center made everything seamless and truly exceeded our expectations. We visited the worksite often during the process and all of the subcontractors and tradesmen were extremely friendly and did a great job on clean up. We were given a timeline that was realistic and were very happy to move in a few weeks early. We’ve had several friends and family warn us of the stress that can come with building a home and we can honestly say that we don’t know what they’re talking about! Again, it was an amazing experience and we couldn’t be happier!”
– Megan Gibbs
